RMS is the largest independent operator of port facilities on the Humber and River Trent. It operates facilities at Goole, Grimsby, Immingham, Flixborough and Gunness. It also provides warehousing and logistical services.

When the private owners received a trade bid approach we worked with management to create an MBO proposal that won control of the business.

Acting as lead advisor PPCF structured a £13m funding package from Aberdeen Asset Managers Private Equity and the Royal Bank of Scotland which allowed the MBO team to hold the majority of the shares.

The business has performed strongly since the MBO such that it was able to acquire Freshney Cargo Services for £3m without further equity. PPCF provided due diligence support and financial advice on this transaction.

PPCF acted as lead advisor on the £20m disposal of RMS. The transaction provided an exit for the Senior Management and Aberdeen Asset Managers Private Equity.
