Park Place advised Doran Scott Williams & Co Ltd (“DSW”) on the Management Buy Out (“MBO”) of the business.
Based in Doncaster, DSW is a well-regarded provider of vocational qualifications, end-point assessment and corporate training programmes, alongside specialist resourcing and managed learning services. Over many years the business has built a strong reputation and a loyal client base across its markets.
Park Place worked alongside DSW for several years, and during that time helped its stakeholders explore a range of options in order to meet their objectives and those of the business. Following that process, it became clear that a MBO was the optimal route forward – securing the long-term future of the business, allowing the shareholders to realise the value they had generated over the years and to provide management with the opportunity to own and lead the business.
The transaction sees Patrick Doran stepping into the role of Non-Executive Chairman with Dave Pearson, the current CEO, leading the MBO team and the business into its next phase of growth.
Park Place advised the shareholders throughout, while working closely and collaboratively with the MBO team to deliver a fair and equitable structure that delivered certainty for the vendors and a solid platform for management to build on.
