Rockscape Energy

Park Place advised the Rockscape Group on the disposal of its subsidiary Rockscape Energy, an operator of a best-in-class anaerobic digestion facility in Lincolnshire. Rockscape Energy was acquired by EAG Bioenergy, an aggregator and developer of biogas plants backed by Vesper Infrastructure and OrbeNovo Capital.

Operational since 2014, the Rockscape plant processes around 65,000 tonnes of agricultural and organic waste each year, producing green gas and electricity for the grid, while supporting local decarbonisation and energy security.  Rockscape Energy had received a number of unsolicited approaches due to its reputation as a high-quality anaerobic biomethane plant with an annual production capacity exceeding 40GWh.

Park Place advised Rockscape Group on its options and led a narrow process of strategic buyers, with EAG ultimately becoming the preferred bidder. EAG maintains bold plans for growth and the acquisition forms part of its strategy to build the leading independent biogas and biomethane platform in the UK and Ireland.

Richard Firth, who led the transaction, said: “It has been a pleasure to support Rockscape Group in delivering this outcome, and we wish EAG all the best going forwards in contributing to the UK’s decarbonisation goals.”

Tim Bletcher, Rockscape Group said: “I would like to thank Richard and Adam for their expertise, advice and guidance during this process, where their professionalism and attention to detail kept it moving in the right direction. I am very proud of how the team (internal and advisors) have all pulled together in such a calm and professional manner to make it happen.”
