Hamish Batchelor | Associate

Hamish joined Park Place in 2021 from the KPMG corporate finance team. At KPMG having qualified as a Chartered Accountant – gaining first place globally in the Case Study exam and winning the international Whinny Prize – he was involved for six years on M&A, audit, corporate tax, restructuring and consulting assignments.

His experience includes lead advisory on trade and private equity transactions, as well as wider strategic advisory and fund raising activities. In 2020 he performed a central project management (‘PMO’) role in the setup of the NHS Nightingale Hospital Birmingham (NEC).

He has a degree in Natural Sciences (Maths, Psychology, Anthropology and Physics) from Durham University.

He has also spent five years competing as a professional mountain bike XCO cyclist, representing Great Britain and racing internationally for a team he established and managed to be the leading British UCI team. He continues to enjoy endurance mountain sports including trail running, mountain biking, climbing and ski-mountaineering, as well as slightly tamer weekend hikes around his home in North Yorkshire.
